President Joe Biden is overseeing the final rounds of student loan forgiveness in his final days in office.

Biden administration rolls out several new rounds of clemency this week before the end of his term. Some borrowers of iNcome driven repayment planthe Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, people with total and permanent disabilities and borrowers with school misconduct are all having their loans forgiven.

But how do you know if you are one of the affected borrowers?

If you receive forgiveness, you will receive a letter from your loan servicer or the Department of Education

Department of Education officials told Investopedia that borrowers typically receive notification from their federal student loan servicers if they receive loan forgiveness or forgiveness.

In some cases, in addition to notifications from loan servicers, the Department will contact borrowers directly via email, such as if the borrower has received forgiveness through: PSLF or Borrower Protection Group Relief.

Borrowers can also log into their account at StudentAid.gov to see if their loan balance has decreased.
