NFL Madrid: Miami Dolphins to host first game in Spain during 2025 season
The Miami Dolphins have been confirmed as the hosts of next season’s first NFL game in Spain.
Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu Stadium has been earmarked as the venue for the match, with the Dolphins announced as the designated “home” team on Friday.
The Indianapolis Colts were previously confirmed to host The first regular season game will be played in Berlin 2025.
“This exciting first game in Spain underscores the NFL’s continued commitment to expanding its global reach and reaching new audiences around the world,” said Brett Gosper, head of NFL Europe.
Madrid and Berlin are the latest host cities for the NFL International Series, joining regular host city London with five overseas games confirmed for the 2025 season so far, tying the previous high.
The dates and opponents for these games will be announced this spring when the full 2025 NFL schedule is released.
Miami Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel said: “This market (Spain) is hungry for football and we are proud to work with the NFL to grow the game internationally while engaging with new and old fans. ”
“With the unique synergies between Miami and Madrid, we believe this is just the beginning for us in this incredible region.”
London will once again host three NFL games in 2025, The New York Jets, Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars are the home teams, but there could be as many as eight international games next season.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell also “expects” to return to Brazil and Mexico with A first game in Ireland is ‘possible’.
The NFL is expected to make further announcements regarding international games next month.
