Erling Haaland signs new Manchester City deal until 2034

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has signed a new long-term contract with the club that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2034.

The Norwegian joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 and has since played 126 games for the club, scoring 111 goals.

The forward’s previous contract reportedly included a release clause and was due to expire in 2027.

Haaland’s new contract will keep the striker at City until his 34th birthday, if he stays at the club until it expires in nine-and-a-half years.

Haaland said: “I’m really pleased to have signed a new contract and look forward to spending more time at this great club.”

“Manchester City is a special club, full of great talent and great supporters, and it’s an environment that helps bring out the best in everyone.

“I would also like to thank (head coach) Pep (Guardiola), his coaching staff, my team-mates and everyone at the club because they have helped me a lot over the past few years.”

Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain said: “The fact that he (Haaland) has been signed for so long shows our commitment to him as a player and his love for the club.”
