GB Olympian Moore back in bobsleigh after Jamaica switch
After his historic performance at the 2018 GB Olympics, Moore had hoped to be part of the GB team for the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
But just weeks before the Olympics, she withdrew from the project, highlighting the “disruptive and offensive behavior” towards “minority communities and women”.
The British Bobsleigh and Bobsleigh Association thanked Moore for raising the concerns and said the allegations did not involve BBSA staff, but that a verbal warning had been issued and additional diversity and inclusion training had been implemented.
Despite the challenging ending, Moore said she still has “fond memories” of her time with Team GB.
“My experience of being part of the UK has shaped who I am today,” she added.
“The challenges I have overcome will make my future in the sport that much easier.
“It’s a really weird feeling that I’m a veteran of this sport now. I’ve been here since 2016.
“I’ve been through different teams, different coaches, different staff and different environments.
“For me as an athlete, it’s perfect. You want to practice in all these different scenarios, whether they’re good, bad or ugly.
“So, going forward, I’m the most experienced athlete that I can take to Jamaica and get results for them.”
