Who are the nominees for BBC Indian Sportswoman of the Year?
The nominees for the fifth BBC India Sportswoman of the Year have been announced.
All five contenders are golfers Aditi Ashokshooter Manu Barker and Avani Lekaracricket player Mandana and wrestler Vinesh Fugat.
The award recognizes the contribution of Indian sportswomen in 2024 and celebrates the achievements of all women involved in sports in the country.

A panel selected by the BBC compiled a shortlist of five Indian female athletes. The judging panel includes some of India’s most authoritative sports journalists, experts and writers.
The female athlete with the most public votes will be crowned BBC Indian Sportswoman of the Year, with results broadcast on the BBC India language website and the BBC Sport website.
Voting will remain open to the public until 18:00 GMT (23:30 UTC) on Friday, 31 January 2025, with the winner to be announced at a ceremony in Delhi on Monday, 17 February 2025 announced on.

During the awards ceremony, the BBC will also honor three other female athletes nominated by the jury: BBC Newcomer of the Year Awardrecognizing the achievements of young athletes; BBC Lifetime Achievement Awardcelebrating a veteran’s unparalleled contribution to sport; and BBC Disabled Athlete of the Year Awardhighlighting excellence in disability sports.
