Jaden Philogene: Ipswich sign Aston Villa winger for fee in region of £20m
Ipswich Town have signed winger Jaden Philokine from Aston Villa for around £20m.
Philogene, 22, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract at Portman Road.
He has made 11 appearances in the Premier League this season, his last appearance coming on December 7.
“I’m happy to be here and I know we have great players on the team,” Philokin said.
“I just want to play as much as possible. As a player, I love dribbling the ball, linking up the game, providing goals and assists. I’m looking forward to it.”
Philokine came through the Aston Villa youth academy and made his senior debut in 2021. He was loaned to Stoke City and Cardiff City before moving to Hull City permanently in September 2023.
The England Under-21 international scored 12 goals in 32 games for the Tigers and signed a new contract with Villa in July.
He is Ipswich’s 15th signing of the season as manager Kieran McKenna seeks to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.
Ipswich are just behind in 17th place in the Premier League When Brighton visit on Thursday (19:30 GMT).
