UK inflation rate falls to 2.5% in December
UK inflation fell last month but remains above the Bank of England’s target.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said prices rose 2.5% in the year to December, down from 2.6% the previous month.
The latest data comes as pressure on public finances has increased in recent days as government borrowing costs hit their highest levels in years.
