Almost everyone makes a spelling mistake from time to time. Coors’ misspelling happened to be on public display in the United States and Canada.
Beer giant Molson Coors Beverage Co.tap), best known for its crates of beer, suffered what’s known as the “Monday Incident” after launching an ad campaign for “the big games” — cough, Super Bowl, cough — that included an unfortunate mistake.
“This morning we released a series of ads ahead of the big game designed to make Coors Light look colder, but we know there were some mistakes,” the brewers said. “In advertisements published in Canada and the United States, ‘Mountain Cold Refreshment’ was unfortunately misspelled as ‘Mountain Cold Refreshment’.
“Coors Light thanks everyone for making us aware of these errors,” it added.
Molson Coors shares dodged a silver bullet on Monday, rising about 2.5% in recent trading. Over the past year, they have fallen by about 15%.
