Tyrell Malacia: Manchester United defender returns after 17 months out with injury
Tyrell Malacia returned to action for Manchester United’s Under-21s in their EFL Trophy tie against Huddersfield Town after a 17-month injury layoff.
Left-back Marascia has been sidelined since June 2023 when he came on as a substitute in the Netherlands’ Nations League final loss to Croatia.
The 25-year-old has since undergone two knee surgeries, with a planned comeback in February having to be scrapped as the injury turned out to be more complicated than initially thought.
Malacia will make 39 appearances for Manchester United in the 2022-23 season, his first season at the club.

Amorim may not be able to begin formal training until next week. His fit non-international players have been given a spell of rest, while the majority of his international squad won’t return until the middle of next week, meaning Amorim will face Ipswich Town on November 24. There is limited time to prepare for the first game.
