He added: “It’s a big part of their DNA, coming from a young schoolchild, it’s something they cherish and it also contributes to the fact that they’re 150kg human.
“Everyone needs to roll up their sleeves and commit, and then we’ll be successful.
“To their credit they had a great set piece but I wouldn’t just let them have it.”
Despite the challenges England face, Genge said preparations remain unchanged.
“Having too many scrums can tire the boys out, you can do 100 scrums this week but it’s not going to change the result on Saturday,” Genge said.
“You have to stick to our process and I think our scrums have been good over the last two weeks.”
England have lost their last two matches narrowly Australia and New Zealand, Both sides entered the final game.
“It’s tough when you face it and I think you need to get rid of that negative energy and move on,” the Bristol Bears prop added.
“A week like Twickenham in South Africa is probably the best week.
“Everyone thinks they’re great, including myself, and I think they’re a great team. I’m happy to go for the best.”
