Archives: Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford, from rivals to friends – CBS News
In 1976, Georgia Governor Jimmy Carter launched a fierce campaign against current President Gerald Ford. Starr also spoke with presidential historian Douglas Brinkley, who described Ford and Carter as paragons of political honesty and integrity.
