On New Year’s Day, a 42-year-old man deliberately drove a truck into a crowd on New Orleans’ famous Bourbon Street, killing at least 15 people and injuring dozens more. The FBI said the attack was being investigated as a possible act of terrorism after weapons and potential improvised explosive devices were found in the vehicle.
