Tour de Ski World Cup: Britain’s Andrew Musgrave wins stage three bronze
Britain’s Andrew Musgrave won bronze on stage three of the Tour de Ski World Cup in Toblach, Italy.
The 34-year-old completed the 20km interval freestyle race in 44 minutes and 33.7 seconds to reach the World Cup podium for the fifth time in his career.
Norway’s defending champion Harald Osterberg Amundsen won the gold medal in 44 minutes and 5.3 seconds, while compatriot Simon Hegstad Kruger finished 21.2 seconds behind to take the silver medal.
The result leaves Musgrave sixth in the overall standings with four stages remaining.
Musgrave said he was “pleased to be on the podium” but “wish to be closer to Harald (Amundsen)”.
“But that’s the way it is. I’ll try to catch him tomorrow,” he added.
Norway’s Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo leads the overall standings, with Amundsen in second and American Ben Ogden in third.
Racing continues on Wednesday with the men’s and women’s 15km pursuit classics.
