Primrose Hill jewellery raid victims offer up to £1.5m in rewards
The victim of a £10m jewelery attack on a north London mansion is offering a reward of up to £1.5m to help catch the thieves and recover the stolen items.
Jewelry, designer handbags worth £150,000 and £5,000 in cash were stolen from the house in Avenue Road, near Primrose Hill, on December 7.
The homeowners, who have not been formally identified, are offering a £500,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the thieves.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that they are also willing to provide 10% of the value of recovered jewelery to obtain information on recoverable jewellery, which could total up to £1.5 million.
Metropolitan Police believe a man climbed in through a second-floor window and attacked the house between 17:00 and 17:30 GMT.
The suspect is described as white, in his 20s to 30s, and was said to be wearing a dark hoodie, cargo pants and a gray baseball cap that covered his face.
Among the items stolen were unique items worth £10.4 million, such as two De Beers butterfly diamond rings, Katherine Wang’s butterfly-shaped pink sapphire earrings and a Van Cleef & Arpels gold, diamond and sapphire Van Cleef necklace.
The Metropolitan Police said many of the missing items were unique in design and therefore easy to identify.
The main road where the attack took place connects the Swiss Cottage and Regent’s Park areas, home to some of London’s most expensive properties.
