Emma Raducanu: Briton withdraws from ASB Classic with back problem
Raducanu had fewer injury problems last season but played only 10 matches after Wimbledon and also missed the Miami Open in March with a back problem.
She hired famous fitness trainer Yutaka Nakamura, who has been with her in Auckland.
“I just need a more focused approach, I need someone to focus more on me personally and I’m looking forward to the results that will come with that,” Raducanu told reporters earlier this month.
“It definitely adds another dimension to the way (coach) Nick (Cavadi) and I work,” she added.
“It all comes together and connects in a very positive way and we can see things transferring to the tennis court, just like we do in the gym.”
Raducanu is currently ranked 56th in the world and will therefore not be seeded at the Australian Open.
