Irish Premiership: Linfield v Larne headlines last round of games of 2024
Runaway leaders Linfield host champions Larne on Monday night in the final game of the 2024 Irish Premier League.
A busy Boxing Day will be followed by another full round of matches on Monday, with all six games kicking off at 19:45 GMT.
Depending on the other results, victory could move Linfield 15 points clear, while victory at Windsor Park would see David Healy’s side 25 points clear of Larne.
Of course, Inverman still have six games to play, but defeat will deal a major psychological blow in the second half of the season.
Elsewhere, in this season’s surprise package Dungannon Swifts travel to Solidarity to take on Cliftonville. The Swifts returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Loughgall on Boxing Day, but the Reds’ woes continued.
Jim Magilton’s side have lost their last three games and will be desperate to turn their attention to defending in the Irish Cup at the end of the year.
Portadown hosted Glentoran at Shamrock Park, finishing fourth and third. Port lost the Boxing Day derby at Glenavon against the Glens, who have not lost since a 2-0 defeat to Neil Currie’s side on November 16 Pass the ball.
Elsewhere, Ballymena United look to cement their place in the top six when they host Glenavon, Carrick Rovers take on the Crusaders at Taylor Avenue, while struggling Loughborough Foggal will face Coleraine at Lakeview Park.
