Lazio 1-1 Atalanta: Late Marco Brescianini equaliser keeps Atalanta top of Serie A
Brescianini’s late equalizer gave Atalanta a point against Lazio and kept them at the top of Serie A.
Fissayo Dele-Bashiru’s first-half goal for the home side looked set to put Lazio on course for victory before Bresciannini struck in the 88th minute.
This result does mean that Atlanta’s 11-game winning streak has been ended.
However, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side remain top of the table with 41 points, one ahead of Inter Milan, who beat Cagliari 3-0 earlier on Saturday, while Lazio are third. Four.
Roma dominated the first half and were rewarded in the 27th minute when Nicolo Rovella fired the ball through to Dele Bashiru.
The former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder cut inside and volleyed home.
But Atalanta grabbed a late point when Ademola Lookman found Brescianini and fired home from close range.
This puts Atalanta back ahead of Inter Milan in Italy’s top flight, despite Milan still having a game in hand.
Second-half goals from Alessandro Bastoni, Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu gave Inter Milan their fifth straight league win.
