“I just think our sport has handled this situation very poorly,” said Australian Kyrgios, 29.
“It is disgusting for our sport that two of the world’s number one players have been sent off for doping.
“This looks terrible.”
Kyrgios is preparing to return to the Brisbane International after missing 18 months due to injury since playing at the Stuttgart Open in June 2023.

While the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) cleared Sinner of wrongdoing after he tested positive for lotibol twice, the case was referred to the Court of Arbitration for Sport following an appeal by the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) (Cas).
Swiatek accepted a one-month ban, which ended on December 4, after the ITIA admitted that her positive test for trimetazidine (TMZ) was due to contamination of the regulated over-the-counter drug melatonin.

However, ITIA strongly denies handling these cases any differently.
“The integrity of tennis is terrible right now, everyone knows it but no one wants to talk about it,” Kyrgios said.
“That’s not okay. I know people don’t like it when I just say things and be honest about things.”
