FPL tips and team of gameweek 19: Salah, Isak, Diaz and Maddison all make the cut

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool, £13.5m – away to West Ham United

Even in a “quiet” game on Boxing Day, Salah still scored 9 points.

You’d be hard-pressed not to captain him in the near future.

Luis Diaz, Liverpool, £7.5m – away to West Ham United

Diaz is a high-risk pick with huge upside. He rarely starts back-to-back games, but has scored in double figures four times in 11 starts (13, 14, 15 and 16 points) and has huge potential.

He was rested against Leicester City and should therefore feature for the Hammers, who have scored two or more goals in each of their last 10 games. Salah can’t monopolize all the points!

Ismaila Sarr, Crystal Palace, £5.8m – Southampton H

No midfielder has had more chances over the past four weeks than the Senegal international.

He has become a consistent statistical performer – averaging 3 shots per game, 10 in the box and 7 on target during this period…

With numbers like that and playing against the worst team in the league, there’s a good chance of some sort of return.

James Maddison, Tottenham Hotspur, £7.7m – Wolves home

Despite Wolves’ two recent wins, a home game is still an exciting FPL game – especially for a high-scoring side like Spurs.

The selection of Tottenham’s midfield assets feels like luck – they all have their merits – but Maddison is the highest-scoring player and is always highly involved (when he does play).

The England player has been involved in 33% of Tottenham’s goals when he’s on the pitch and can score three or more goals against Wolves.

Cole Palmer (vice-captain), Chelsea, £11.3m – away at Ipswich Town

With Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka out for some time, it feels like most teams will have Salah and Palmer available.

The Chelsea talisman is on track to score around 300 points this season and would be the most important player in the game without Salah.

Can you captain him this week? If you are the gambling type, then why not? His score in the last game was one point higher than Salah!
