iPhone Face ID Not Working? Try Fixing It With These Steps

Nothing is more frustrating than trying to unlock your phone iPhone Or pay with Apple Pay, but the phone will ask you for your password.

Luckily, if Face ID isn’t working, there are some simple steps you can take to fix it. You may need to reset Face ID or add an alternate appearance, both of which can be done quickly and easily through your iPhone’s Settings menu.

But your first step should be to restart your iPhone—you’d be surprised how often turning your phone off and on again can fix minor issues. You should also navigate to set up menu, click General and select Software updates. Doing so resolves errors and ensures optimal performance.

To make sure your iPhone can see your face clearly when using Face ID, try wiping the front-facing camera. Apple recommends wiping your phone with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and avoiding cleaning products.

Set up an alternate appearance

You can set an alternate look for Face ID in your iPhone’s Settings menu.

Apple says Face ID will automatically adapt to changes in your appearance. But if it doesn’t recognize you, try setting up a different appearance. Open set up menu, click Face ID and passcode and enter your password when prompted.

If Face ID isn’t working, try resetting it.
