Oakywood Standing Desk Pro review
Back in July 2023, I reviewed Oakwood Custom Standing Desk. Almost a year and a half later, Oakwood released an updated version. They call it the Oakywood Standing Desk Pro. Its groundbreaking custom design tools are now a staple of its product line, and the company has set out to upgrade some areas of the aforementioned Oakywood custom standing desk to make it a better desk—believe it or not.
But before we dive in, it’s worth noting that as the desire and need for ergonomic solutions for both professional workspaces and unique home offices continues to increase, the issue of size continues to arise. General dimensions don’t always work for those unique basements, side rooms, bedroom nooks and dedicated home offices. They’re not even always suitable for professional offices.
So Oakwood set out to solve this problem by using their custom sizes. If you need a “regular” to “large” desk, they have this standing desk pro. If you have a smaller space to fill, they have the Standing Desk Pro Mini. Both can be customized to fit your space, with precise grommets, fittings and colorways. Every aspect of a custom desk can be extremely satisfying. All this customization comes at a price, but so does having a desk that doesn’t fit – I’ll let you decide the price you want to pay. Oakywood Standing Desk Pro: Price and Availability
The Oakywood Standing Desk Pro starts at $1,190 for the base configuration, and the price can climb quickly when you add accessories and size. If I bumped the price up, I could get the Oakywood Standing Desk Pro for a whopping $3,390 (without accessories). When it comes to accessories, Oakywood sells quality desk stands, MagSafe stands, cable management units, laptop stands and desk pads.
Oakwood can ship worldwide, but keep in mind that if you are getting a custom desk, they will need time to assemble and customize your desk and then ship it. These lead times can be up to 9 weeks, but customizing a beautiful piece of walnut into a table takes time to complete. You can go to Target or at Amazon Cheap tables or current tables.
Another thing that’s impressive is that they promote pricing transparency, which also shows what kind of company Oakwood is. They have a chart that shows where the money you spend with them is going, making you feel better because you know your money is going to a good place.
Oakywood Standing Desk Pro: Unboxing and First Impressions
Most of the time, my first impression of a desk begins when I get it, and often when I unbox it. However, based on the online editing tool, I can tell you my first impressions of the table. I couldn’t wait to get my custom desk, especially after trying out the new grommets option and choosing a solid walnut desk with matching accessories.
The packaging is compact and well organized and very easy to open. The table comes in a box that is screwed on rather than taped off, which I appreciate as it helps protect my custom table. The box contains the table top, adjustable steel frame legs, control panel, assembly tools and required cables.
I immediately liked the premium finish of the wood, the solid build quality, and the simplicity of the build. This only takes a few minutes, unlike most desks which take longer.

I chose the solid walnut desk, although they are also available in solid oak, oak and walnut veneer, and black oak. If you’re interested in veneer tabletops, they’re made from environmentally friendly oil-based wax and are lighter and less expensive than solid wood tabletops.
It was everywhere and the tables were small, which I liked. It is a beautiful piece of art in itself. It’s a well-made piece of wood that looks beautiful on its own, not to mention staged with other beautiful gear.
The table raises and lowers quickly and quietly, making it perfect for almost any space; don’t worry if it’s too loud.
Oakywood Standing Desk Pro: in use
This table is exactly what I hoped for. It’s clean, professional, stylish, does a great job, is high quality, and looks gorgeous. This quickly became my dedicated iPad desk, which I shared with another team member. However, without getting too specific about my use case, the important thing is that this table works just fine. Whether you have a desk stand or not, grommets built into your desk are great for hiding cables. It also makes a great cable clasp without it. Using a desk stand is a great way to route cables where they need to be (such as the back of your monitor).
The controller for raising and lowering the table is very stylish. Its handle and display are in the same piece. Lift the little knob and the table goes up; push it down and you guessed it, it goes down. There is a display inside the knob that reads the altitude. Best of all, you can move to a saved preset with a double click.
I’m 6’2″ and the other reviewer who tried this desk is about 6’3″. The Oakwood Standing Desk Pro not only reaches our preferred standing height, but it also remains stable at that height, which is great.
I ended up putting this table on casters, which is how most of my tables are. If (let’s be honest…when) I decide to change something, the casters make the transition super easy. I can roll the table away from the wall, adjust it, and then roll it back. Or, for a multi-purpose room, if the room needs to be used for something other than an office, the desk can be rolled out instantly without worry or damage.

Oakywood Standing Desk Pro: Final Verdict
The Oakywood Standing Desk Pro combines beauty, sustainability and ergonomic features, making it an excellent choice for the modern workspace. While its premium price and custom order delivery times may not appeal to everyone, it’s a worthwhile option for those looking to make a long-term investment in their workspace.
