NFL: Green Bay Packers rout New Orelans Saints to secure play-off spot
Jordan Love starred as the Green Bay Packers defeated the New Orleans Saints 34-0 to secure their spot in the NFL playoffs.
The 26-year-old quarterback threw for 182 yards and a touchdown to help the Packers clinch a playoff berth for the fifth time in six seasons.
It was the first big win of the season, with the in-form Packers winning their ninth game in 11 games.
“Our goal is the Super Bowl. That’s the first step to the playoffs,” Love said.
“This is a big game for this spot. I’m proud of the way we came in here and handled the business.”
The Packers had the ball for 37 minutes and 13 seconds in 60 minutes and had 404 yards compared to the Saints’ 196 yards.
The Packers improved to 11-4, while the Saints dropped to 5-10 and have missed the playoffs.
Green Bay, hoping to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since 2011, will join NFC Conference teams the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs.
