Starbucks (gender) Unionized baristas in Chicago, Los Angeles and Seattle are on strike over wage disputes, with the union representing them saying the strike will “spread from coast to coast” and last until Christmas Eve.

The United Starbucks Workers said the largest coffee retailer is “deviating from the path forward we committed to” after the union announced in February that the two sides agreed to begin discussions to reach a collective bargaining agreement and resolve litigation between the parties. However, the union has since said Starbucks “has yet to bring a comprehensive economic package to the bargaining table, and hundreds of unresolved unfair labor practices remain unresolved.”
