Riyadh Season Snooker Championship: Ronnie O’Sullivan cruises past Ding Junhui

Ronnie O’Sullivan defeated Ding Junhui 4-0 in Saudi Arabia to reach the semi-finals of the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship.

Seven-time world champion O’Sullivan scored 129 and 113 consecutive points to win with a 2-0 lead.

China’s Ding Junhui failed to score a point in the final two games, while O’Sullivan finished the match with an impressive 84% pot success rate.

The 49-year-old Briton will face Mark Allen in Friday’s semifinals.

Belgian player Bressel defeated the world champion 4-3 to advance to the semi-finals Karen Wilson.

Bressel led 42-1 in the final game against England’s Wilson, but then missed a routine red card and gave his opponent a chance.

But Wilson only managed one red goal before Bressel returned to the table to secure progress.

“Overall, it was a good game, we all hit some good stuff. It was really tight at the end,” Bressel said.

“I thought he would clarify. When I got back to the table, I just tried to stay calm. That’s exactly what I need to win against a top player like Karen.”

Northern Ireland player Allen won 4-2 and advanced to the semi-finals Mark Selby.

British player Selby scored 68 points to lead 2-1, but Allen won the next three games, including 76 and 75 points, and easily won.
