Ryan Reynolds: Truro City’s Eric Perez out to match Wrexham owner
When asked about the last Canadian owner of a National League team to win promotion, Eric Perez joked: “We’re both good Canadian kids, and we do look a little alike.”

It’s a lofty ambition, but one that seems more realistic given Truro’s position at the right end of the National League South – the Tinners were at the top of the table until Saturday’s result went against them.

“I admire what they’ve done at Wrexham. I’ve followed football my whole life so I’ve seen other clubs come up from the lower divisions into the Football League.
“Even with their huge resources, star power, television and everything, they still didn’t get promoted to the Football League the first time.
“That’s why you play this game and that’s the beauty of football – just when you think it’s going to kiss you, it can turn around and bite you in the neck.”
