Women’s Euro 2025 draw: Who are England and Wales’ opponents in Switzerland?
There are 16 teams taking part in the European Cup, but both England and Wales believe the draw could have been better.
It’s less than six months since the England team was formed defeated 2-1 France, who are at St James’ Park for their Euro 2025 qualifiers, have never won a major tournament.

The Netherlands is ranked 10th in FIFA’s world rankings, actually one spot higher than France.
They finished second in Group A1, behind Italy, and advanced to Switzerland, when the two countries were tied on points.
The last time England faced the Netherlands in the Nations League was in December 2023, when England won 3-2 at Wembley and lost 2-1 in Utrecht two months ago.
Wales’ last meeting with the Netherlands was in a friendly match in 2017, when the team lost 0-5.
Rhian Wilkinson’s side were the lowest-ranked nation in the Euro 2025 draw – 30th in the FIFA rankings – beating the Republic of Ireland in the qualifying play-offs to end their hopes of qualifying for the major tournament. Long wait.
England and Wales last met in the 2019 World Cup qualifiers.
