Ice hockey: Great Britain women beat Spain in Olympic qualifying
Katie Henry scored twice as Great Britain women beat Spain 3-0 in their 2026 Winter Olympics qualifying match.
Great Britain beat Latvia in their opening match, with Henry taking the lead after 10 minutes from Catherine Gayle’s cross.
In the 54th minute, Henry cut in from the left and shot for his second shot, before Judy Alderson-Smith fired into the empty net to complete Sheffield’s victory.
Great Britain will face the Netherlands, who have also won two games, in their final game on Sunday.
The winners of the four-team group will advance to the final qualifying phase in February 2025.
The GB women’s team are hoping to qualify for the Winter Olympics for the first time, with the 2026 Winter Games to be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
