Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) Launches New Podcast to Drive Health Impact Across the Continent
African CDC (Africa) has launched African Public Health Podcast, A powerful platform designed to enhance African voices in public health, address misinformation, and promote resilience to the continent’s evolving health challenges.
With the continent’s health threat landscape – from pandemic and climate-related risks to non-communicational diseases, the African CDC remains firmly empowering it with science-driven, accessible, accessible and timely information. Africa Public Health Podcast aims to ignite key in this ever-evolving health ecosystem dialogue, Inspire innovation and reshape the public health story throughout the continent.
“At the CDC, we believe that the power of storytelling inspires action and trust,” said Margaret Muigai-Edwin, director of communications and public information at the CDC. “The podcast provides Africa with its own microphone, and our experts, frontline workers and communities can shape the narrative of African public health.”
The podcast will feature a series of expert interviews, front-line experiences, and community-led solutions that highlight Africa’s unique strategies in promoting health, safety and innovation. The plot will explore key topics such as pathogen genomics, pandemic preparation, digital health, community engagement, science and innovation, as well as capacity building and training to enhance Africa’s health systems.
