World Athletics Indoor Championships: Jeremiah Azu wins 60m gold
UK’s Jeremiah Azu sprinted 60 million gold in the dramatic photo completion of the World Track and Field Indoor Championships to secure his first global champion in his career.
Within two weeks of European indoor victory, the 23-year-old announced that he was the world champion, which was his personal best performance of 6.49 seconds.
It saw him crossing a hundred seconds past Australian Lachlan Kennedy, who was originally the winner of the big screen in Nanjing, China.
World Indoor Gold adds a stunning conclusion to Azu’s whirlwind month, where Azu celebrates the birth week of his son before winning his first solo international title on the European stage.
