Women’s Six Nations 2025: England name uncapped Jade Shekells and Flo Robinson on bench against Italy
GB Sevens player Jade Shekells can make his debut on Sunday at XV-A side international, after a run against York in the English Women’s Six Nations opener.
John Mitchell’s 37 women’s team – Exeter Chiefs Scrum-Half Flo Robinson (23), Gloucester-Hartpury’s Shekells, 28, joined in the replacement.
The Shekells were part of the GB team at the Paris Olympics last year and would appear in the center if brought.
Mia Venner, the Premier League women’s rugby champion who helped Gloucester-Hartpury win the third straight win last weekend, won her second title, just like the Luffborough Lightning Locke Lori Lilli Ives Campion, who will make her international start for the first time.
Zoe Aldcroft January was replaced with the captain.
Helena Rowland operates primarily at the center when she recently made an appearance in England, and he will start at the fly half.
“She is definitely versatile, but she wants to play at 10 o’clock and she thinks she is 10 years old,” Mitchell said.
“She has always been passionate about mustard and knocked my door down so she had a chance.
“When she starts, she will start from 10 o’clock and if she blends together at the 23-year-old game, she will become versatile – but her first port of call will be at 10 o’clock.”
