Tierney spelled a stark game picture in Wales, acknowledging that “many parts of the system have been broken” and admits that the products offered to fans are “not good enough”.

But Tierney’s response was to claim that the process would take at least two years and create “distractions and pains” and to think that retaining Cardiff, Dragon, Osprey and Scarlet is a “bold” decision.
“We are absolutely committed to four regions, which gives them all the chances of success and that will grow the game,” she said.
“We are increasing the funding and improving the pathways so that they have players of high quality to serve them and work in the business side.
“The strategy will be faster, faster, and will have a faster impact than moving the three.”
WRU has previously revealed its Five years of ambition to build a gameincluding Wales entering the top five in the world by 2029.
It also previously announced funding to regions in July this year – from the current £4.5 million – increased to increase per person in the next three years and eliminate debt in some regions.
But Welsh rugby is still waiting for the deal to be signed.
“It took longer than I expected, but even if we reached a deal in October, the extra money that would not be reached until July,” Tierney said.
“It takes some time for us to solve this problem correctly. We could have imposed a deal, but the relationship (with the region) is important. We need to trust each other.”
