Trump’s Travel Ban: 22 African Nations Face US Restrictions

President Donald Trump’s administration will impose new travel restrictions on 43 countries, including 22 African countries. The draft, published by The New York Times, divides countries into red, orange and yellow lists based on the severity of the restrictions. Libya, Somalia and Sudan are on the red list. As a result, they face a complete U.S. travel ban along with countries like Iran and North Korea. Eritrea, South Sudan and Sierra Leone fall under the orange list, which means higher restrictions on travel to the United States rather than blanket bans. Meanwhile, 16 African countries (including Angola, Cameroon and Zimbabwe) were conducted on the yellow list, meaning their citizens will have 60 days to address our concerns or risks with stricter measures. It is worth noting that Nigeria and South Africa are not on any list.
