Bangkok grand prix: Plans to host street-circuit race in Thailand by 2028
Formula One CEO Stefano Domenicali met with the Thai Prime Minister to discuss plans for the Bangkok Street Circuit Grand Prix.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said the government will conduct a “feasibility study” on the possibility of race in the capital starting in 2028.
Myanmar in northeast Thailand has an existing track recognized by the FIA, the governing body of World Motorsports.
Domenicali describes the plan as “impressive.”
“I believe all Thais will benefit from organizing this event, whether it is large-scale infrastructure investment, job creation, new revenue generation, and import of new technologies and innovations,” Paetongtarn said.
The F1 schedule for 24 games includes four games in the Asia-Pacific region.
