Top US Supreme Court justice rebukes Trump’s call to impeach judge
The chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court issued a rare statement in response to President Donald Trump’s shot judge who ruled that his administration deported immigrants.
“For more than two centuries, it has been determined that improperity is not an appropriate response to the divisions of judicial decisions,” Chief Justice John Roberts said in a statement.
He added that “there is a normal appeal review process for this purpose”.
Trump earlier called U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg “the troublemaker and inciteer,” and ordered the administration to deport defendants under 18th-century law.
Conservative jurist Judge Roberts wrote a majority of opinions in Trump’s presidential exemption case last year and rarely made public statements on political matters.
His statement was made when Trump escalated his attack on many of the early actions that had stopped or ruled him as president.
Trump released “Social Truth” earlier on Tuesday, where he attacked Judge Boothberg and said he deserved impeachment. “He won nothing!” he wrote. “I’m just doing what the voters want me to do.”

The lawyer told the judge that the deported plane had taken off and he reportedly issued a verbal order to fly “immediately”, although the directive was not included in the written ruling issued shortly thereafter.
