The Inmotion V13 Challenger Review: The Big Wheel of Electric Unicycles

From an outsider’s perspective, I fully understand how the electric environment seems to be frightening to someone who has never ridden it. Anyone can only balance on one wheel? It only took me about 20 minutes to study and then I could ride home for free using the handrail. If I could do it, almost anyone could. It’s just a matter of your body adapting to new things.

For beginners, the Inmotion V13 challenger is far from ideal. Although I have heard stories of people learning to ride a bike, it is nearly three feet tall and weighs 110 pounds. Plus, it has a top speed of 56 mph. However, it is these features that make it appeal to experienced riders. When riding something fast you need to have as much equipment between legs as possible, which is where height and width are important. While weight is not ideal for carrying, it is perfect for keeping wheels grounded.

Yes, given its $1,899 price, the V13 requires both physical and financial commitments. If you are looking for a great EUC that can reward veterans who can ride in a vehicle like this, the V13 is worth it.

Design and Function

The V13 Challenger features an optimized weight distribution and a smooth shape. The V13 is also designed as one of the safest wheels on the market, with a powerful, innovative battery management system and redundant sensors to prevent wheel cutoffs. The large 22-inch hybrid tire combines with air suspension to absorb bumps, while the wheel weighs 110 pounds to ensure stability and keep it grounded. It is also relatively high.

V13 is powered by 3,024WH 126V The battery is powered by a 10,000 watt peak (300nm torque) motor with a maximum speed of 56 mph. Use its 5-AMP charger to charge between 4 and 6 hours. The vehicle’s estimated driving range is 88 miles, varied based on speed, rider size, terrain, wind conditions, and other variables. The V13 can easily exceed the maximum speed, but it prevents the wheels from being cut off. This assurance ensures that if the rider keeps trying to accelerate, the wheels don’t throw them away, so it maintains range for the range that maintains forward and balance.

However, additional speed limits can be set within the application and directly in the device.

Like other volatile products, V13 connects via Bluetooth with iOS/Android apps to extend functionality and performance tracking. In-app statistics provide detailed insights to monitor your performance, battery status, system health, temperature and usage habits.

As a safety precaution, the wheels do not directly reach 56 mph – the rider must first agree to unlock the maximum speed through the app. Once the set speed is reached, the wheels will tilt backward and beep to alert the rider.

The V13 also has a small 2.4-inch LCD Touch display on the head of the device, allowing riders to check current speed, battery levels and adjust settings without the need for a phone. One of my favorite features is setting a password on the wheels – perfect for placing it in the stroller section. This ensures that no one can open it without authorization.

The protective cage around the front and rear helps protect the device from falls and impacts. When not in use, the front also doubles with the rest of the shelves. There is an aftermarket stand that allows the device to tilt to the back. I also used a cage to lift the equipment out of the car and flew along the stairs occasionally.

The flip pedals on each side of the wheel are solid and spacious, providing good grip and comfortable to accommodate my 12 shoes.

The V13 includes a halo light for daily operation, which stays long on power, a powerful 18-watt headlight for low-light conditions, as well as a rear brake light for increased visibility.

Finally, the V13 has two charging ports and Type-A and Type-C ports for charging mobile devices.

Performance

So, how do you ride a vehicle like the V13? Like all EUCs, it’s surprisingly kept upright: the wheels can balance the front and rear, while the rider controls left and right. Transfer the weight to the toes while leaning backwards the heel, pushing it forward, slowing it down or placing it in the reverse direction. Just like riding a bike; once your body is accustomed to the mechanic, you will wonder why you are not learning as soon as possible (on this or another).

I’m logged in on V13 for 1,300 miles and am counting. Although I have other options, the inMotion V13 is still one of my favorite wheels for everyday use (as long as I don’t have to carry it). I’ve travelled to Minnesota, South Carolina, Chicago and the entire city of New York. One of the reasons I like to bring it to the trip is that it doesn’t take up much space in the SUV (it’s even bigger than a bike). Plus, there is enough power, speed and enough tires to handle most roads and trails wherever I am.

As a bigger rider, I appreciate the stability and security provided by the wheels in this size. However, I have to note that the wheel feels like a high-speed rocket, although it feels stable and straight to the arrow. First of all, when getting used to the wheel, tilting requires effort, but the sailing after a while and after practice becomes smooth.

At the time of writing, my personal top speed for the V13 is 48 mph – if I have more room to push it further.

Areas of improvement

The V13 has a trolley handle that allows you to move around the device easily. Overall it is solid, but over time I found that the handle screws will loosen and need to be tightened. This is a small problem that can easily solve some problems, but it is worth mentioning.

Another consideration is the weight of the wheel, which can be a little heavy for smaller/lighter riders to handle comfortably. Additionally, the suspension needs to be checked regularly as it tends to lose air pressure over time. It would be great if you can check the pressure without connecting the supplied pump. However, as with any vehicle, regular maintenance will help maintain its optimal performance.

judgment

The V13 is undeniably commendable when it comes to building quality, performance, speed and safety. Personally, I really like this wheel – a great choice for big riders looking to compete. It deals effortlessly with bumpy streets, rough roads and meadow hills, providing a smooth and stable ride.

I’ve ridden it on a backpack, which has taken me beyond the recommended 265 pound limit, and the V13 doesn’t even back down. For those who need strength and ability on a ride, this aspect is a solid and reliable option with enough backup power.
