Newcastle Falcons: Boss Steve Diamond reveals recruitment freeze
Diamond confirmed that in the next season, 28 players can sign or prepare contracts, which are owned by senior academy players.
The future of a handful of other players, and talks with potential new signings were put on hold.
If new funds emerge, this will leave Diamond’s shortage of about six players hoping to recruit his team.
The club has already been on a competitive budget that is far less than the rest of the Premier League, which will end for three consecutive years.
Newcastle did not win the league game between March 2023 and October 2024, which was 25 games. Last season, they Lost all 18 years old Premier League games.
Costs have been greatly reduced to reduce financial losses, but this has led to clubs becoming a bad relationship in the league.
Shop owner Kurdi will sell the club in November, but despite interest, there is no specific appearance.
It was a worrying time, but Diamond insists that everyone in Kingston Park knows what’s going on.
“We had a real breakdown in Worcester, where there was no real clarity or honest knocking.”
“It’s completely different. The team and staff have been told (same) that I’ve been told where we are. There’s no panic.
“We tend to be the right people in the business to solve this problem – shareholders – Once the information is provided, I will inform the staff and players where we are.
“I don’t think there will be any mysterious illnesses, nor will I cry out for fear that they won’t get paid at the end of the month. That’s not even in our vocabulary. We’re in good shape.”
