US tornadoes, wildfires and dust storms leave 37 dead and ‘staggering’ damage
The tornado ripped a group of people in the Midwest and South America, with at least 37 dead.
Missouri was the first to be hit and started to occur on Friday. At least 12 people died in the state.
Strong winds in Texas and Kansas storms slammed, causing vehicles to accumulate and twelve people to die.
Extreme weather covers one area of the country with a population of more than 100 million, fanning nearly 150 wildfires in Oklahoma. In Arkansas, Alabama and Mississippi, deaths have also been recorded.
Parts of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Kentucky and North Carolina are subject to flood consultation.
According to Tracker PowerOutageus, 320,000 people in the area had no electricity on Sunday night.
In Arkansas, Georgia and Oklahoma have declared states of emergency.
In Missouri, Gov. Mike Kehoe said: “The scale of destruction across the state is shocking.”
“Hundreds of homes, schools and businesses have been destroyed or severely damaged,” his statement added.
According to local coroner Jim Akers, the tornado killed the occupant of a residence in Butler County, Midwest, making it “unidentified as a home.”
“It’s just a fragment,” he added. “The floor was upside down. We walked on the wall.”


In Oklahoma, nearly 150 wildfires, driven by wind, reached 83mph (133 km/h), and several articulated vans were sold.
The fire burned 170,000 acres and destroyed nearly 300 buildings, including a farmhouse owned by state Governor Kevin Stitt.
In Kansas, at least 8 people died after at least 55 vehicles crashed due to sandstorms.
In Texas, another sandstorm caused a buildup of about 38 cars and at least four people died.
The tornado swept the state, with six people killed in Mississippi, and the twisted twisters killed three more people in Alabama, including an 82-year-old woman.
In Arkansas, officials reported three people died and 29 were injured.
U.S. President Donald Trump said the National Guard had been deployed to Arkansas to help the storm response.
“Please join Melania and me in prayer for everyone affected by these terrible storms!” He posted on his Truth Social Platform.
