As Remote work There are no shortage of solutions that continue to flourish with solutions aimed at increasing the resilience of power or network regulations. However, Reskube’s Home Pro is the first device we’ve encountered that promises to do all: It’s one Uninterruptible power supplyproviding up to 500W of backup power, also providing back-up data connections through integrated 4G LTE router. If the power goes down, the home professionals battery power their two forward sockets from the internal battery. If your Internet connection is lost, it will switch to a mobile data connection.
The design is basic but sturdy, with no controls except for the power button. The front has two simple LED bars indicating battery life and current power output. At the back you will find the main power input plus the solar FM12315 port, again rated at 500W. Two homes are also in the rear Ethernet A port that handles incoming WAN and LAN connections, as well as two mobile antennas and RP-SMA connectors for two Wi-Fi antennas. Above these you will find the primary and secondary SIM card trays.
Reskube claims that home professionals are strong enough to operate a small office with five PCs or Laptop computerswitches and printers. I’m not sure about this: for larger laser printers, this is certainly not enough, which can attract 1kW during their warm-up phase. However, for several home workers or limited mobile retail settings, it should be great. I tested it with a constant 500W load and found that the battery lasted 1 hour 22 minutes before sending it out. During this period, it provided a total of 633WH of power supply, with about 82% of the battery capacity being 768Wh, which is competitive for a compact battery power library.
It is worth mentioning that during the 500W load test, the cooling fan of the home Pro continued to run at the highest speed. The noise is audible, but not as loud as the warning buzzer, and it sounds constantly when you exceed 475W of load. At 200W load, the fan is quiet and the battery provides a total of 595Wh, accounting for about 77% of its requested capacity.
Fans can also hear obvious sounds while charging. This happens at a fixed 500W rate, which will tail shortly before the battery is fully charged. I measured the total power consumption of a fully charged is 801WH, so assuming the battery goes from fully discharged to fully charged, this is equivalent to an impressive 96% efficiency.
The power failover capability of home professionals works brilliantly. When I cut incoming power, its battery power converts to much faster than most general-purpose battery backups in less than 10mm, and is certainly fast enough to avoid any failure on my IT device.
Internally, Reskube Home Pro uses lithium iron lithium phosphate batteries, which have safer charging characteristics with standard lithium ion chemistry. They have a longer service life: Reskube said they will maintain 100% capacity of 3,000 cycles, down to 60% after 5,000. That’s it, and disappointingly, the standard warranty is only 12 months, especially when other power manufacturers offer it for five years.
The networking capabilities of home professionals are on the conservative side. The unit supports 4G at speeds up to 150mbits/sec, carrier and signal strength allowable. For the best reception Wifi The network only supports 2.4GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi, and its Ethernet port is limited to 100mbits/sec.
These limitations have a significant impact on network performance. My ISP line usually gives me a download speed of 100mbits/sec, but drops to 62mbits/sec on the home professional network. Unfortunately, as for maximum resilience, you need to keep your critical devices connected to your home professionals. Still, there is enough bandwidth to be productivity here, and the switching to LTE is very smooth: I need about 9 seconds of downtime when I switch from fixed line to mobile data – fast enough to fast enough Youtube The video keeps playing.
HOME PRO’s web-based configuration interface is easy to use and provides access to a variety of configuration options. But, strangely, you can’t check the battery status, nor change any power-related settings, such as choosing a slower charge rate or modifying the warning buzzer threshold. Reskube also provides remote control manage Options are £39 per year. This adds a command line interface and complete online access to the web dashboard, ideal for supporting remote users without having to go on the field or causing downtime.
The Reskube Home Pro is a simple concept and delivered very well. It won’t be hurt if it’s quieter and gets faster network support, but it provides the core protection you need in a single box that’s easy to deploy and manage. It’s also surprisingly worth it, at £999 and at £999, just more than you’ll pay for similarly specified backup power supplies and biwing routers. Additionally, the Reskube Home Pro can be rented for £444 a year. This means you don’t have to worry about a stingy warranty, it includes remote phone calls and online support. If you want to back up your business critical system, that seems like a price worth mentioning.
