DuPont Names CEO of Electronics Unit to Be Spun Off

The manufacturer of specialty materials and chemicals said Jon Kemp, currently president of DuPont Electronics and Industry, will become CEO and board member of the future independent electronics disclosure company.
Additionally, DuPont said Michael Stubblefield, president and CEO of health technology provider Avantor (ink cartridge), will serve as chairman of the new company.
Kemp notes that the world is entering a “critical period when advanced computing and connectivity require new technologies and integrated solutions” and that future companies “will be important partners in advancing customer growth strategies.”
DuPont recently decided not to leave the water unit
DuPont initially planned to also plan to drop the water unit, but it reversed the decision in January, explaining that after “evaluating all strategic alternatives,” it determined that the best way to generate value for the segment is to use it as part of the parent company.
DuPont’s shares were slightly higher Monday morning. The stock price has increased by about 5% over the past year.
