Dozens feared dead in North Macedonian nightclub fire
According to the Ministry of Interior, at least 51 people were killed and more than 100 were injured in a nightclub fire in northern Macedonia.
The fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday at the Pulse Club in Kokani, a small town 100 kilometers (60 miles) east of the capital Skopje.
Video posted on social media showed the building engulfed by flames and smoke rolled into the night sky.
The fire is said to have started around 03:00 GMT (02:00 GMT), and the band ADN’s performance was a hip-hop duo popular in the country, and the venue was still burning a few hours later.
As many as 1,500 people were said to have attended the concert.
Local media said the fire could have been caused by the use of pyrotechnic equipment, with the lens showing sparks on the stage captured on the ceiling and then spread rapidly.
