World Championships: Great Britain win four-man bobsleigh bronze

Britain won the second world championship on a four-man sled in 1986 as they won a bronze medal at Lake Placid.

British quartet Brad Hall, Arran Gulliver, Taylor Lawrence and Greg Cackett held third overnight, second in the run, behind two German teams.

The GB team’s total time is 2:45.00, 0.48 seconds slower than the victory German team driven by Francesco Friedrich.

Friedrich now won gold medals at the 2018 and 2022 Olympics, winning the past seven world titles on the four-man sled.

Hall’s team scored the fastest pace in Friday’s second game, cutting Friedrich’s lead to 0.29 seconds, only because of poor track conditions and the entire heat was emitted after completion.

The same team won Britain’s first podium since World War II at the World Championship two years ago, completing Jointly with Latvia.
