Ex-Man Utd player Brandon Williams did 99mph before crash

Former Manchester United footballer Brandon Williams admitted to having experienced nearly 100 mph dangerous driving.
Williams, 24, was found on high speed and unstable on the A34 A3 near Handforth, Cheshire on August 20, 2023.
CPS said he earlier pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving without third-party insurance.
Williams, who signed with Manchester United at the time, drove with a female passenger at a speed of up to 99 miles in a 70-mph zone. The court heard that there was a balloon in his mouth.
CPS said the woman was seen photographing them at some point on her phone, adding that it was obvious that the car was out of control, and it collided with the blue Ford Fiesta at 18:17 BST and then crashed into the central booking.
Williams’ car caused serious damage, Ford Fiesta’s offside damage, lost wheels and damaged the damage from the central booking.
Williams, who was on loan to Ipswich Town, was breathing, but the test was negative.
The former Prime Minister’s League footballer was treated in the hospital due to injury and then brought to the Middlewich custody suite.
“Driving unstable”
Senior Prosecutor Prosecutor Andrew Madden said Williams’ driving that day was clearly far below expectations of capable and cautious drivers.”
Expert analysis shows that he drove at 99 mph before he hit the Ford Fiesta.
“Witnesses said Williams kept accelerating and then braked sharply. It was obvious that he was not in control of the vehicle,” Madden said.
“Driving is unstable, with severely high speeds. In the end, Williams completely lost control and collapsed.”
Mr Madden said luckily no one was seriously injured or killed.
Manchester United did not renew the player’s contract in June.
The former under-21 player currently has no club and will be sentenced at Chester Crown Court on May 9.
