Birmingham City: Chris Davies’ side 99.9% likely to win League One, but when?
When the promotion happens, the mind will inevitably turn to the next season, and the chance to return to the Premier League.
Davies likes to drill the spell into his players “step by step” as he moves the club toward the second level.
Critics may point to Birmingham’s ability to spend, and its global image of its owners makes Davis’ job easier.
Although this is difficult to object, it is also worth pointing out that such preconceptions may make it difficult for the influence of Mag to break through broader consciousness.
“Davis seems to have gained resentment only outside the West Midlands’ range,” Wilford said.
“His first moon manager award only arrived after February 13. It’s easy to point out the game budget, look at Blues’ championship quality recruitment and underestimate what he achieved in his first year.
“Birmingham City fans have experienced a decade of relegation, off-court chaos and decline.
“Now they have ambitious and trusted owners who support a young coach who demonstrates amazing work ethics, clear football strategy and impressive motivational abilities.
“Many people will wait to judge how he works in the championship game. It’s hard to imagine Davis and the club won’t face this challenge well, either.”
Back in September, Krystian Bielik went on to say that Birmingham “will be the champion club again in six months”.
That was this month. He will not be far away.
