Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold out of Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United
Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss Sunday’s Calabar Cup final against Newcastle due to an ankle injury.
The 26-year-old knocked on the door in the second half on Tuesday Champions League failure Paris St-Germain, France won by free throw.
Alexander-Arnold’s injury means Liverpool has no recognized right-back for Wembley finals, as Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez are still recovering from injuries.
“Trent is not available. He won’t show up in the finals,” coach Arn Slott said.
“But he still has to evaluate how long it will take him, but we do hope he will come back by the end of the season.”
Alexander-Arnold had no contract at the end of the season, BBC Source Real Madrid was eager to sign the defender but did not make any official comments on his near future, it said in January.
