Former Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday said Brand (Butland) suffered far more measures due to previous mistakes.
“Jack Brand is a hero,” he said on Sportssound. “We talked about his lack of form this season compared to the final season. All of this is firmly out the window.”
Tavernier revealed after the game that he was not particularly prepared for a gunfight.
“We may have a hard time doing this, but it’s a special night in European football that you can’t replace,” he told TNT Sports.
“We didn’t actually practice this week (punishment). Maybe it helped.”
