Lewis Hamilton does not feel pressure to ‘prove anything’ going into Australian Grand Prix
Hamilton teamed up with Charles Leclerc of Ferrari and said he was impressed by the 27-year-old’s “work ethics.”
“It’s different from mine,” Hamilton said. “Just keep going. He’s Mr. Ferrari and it’s really cool to work with him.”
Leclerc joined Ferrari in 2019, faster than his teammates Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz. Monaquis rejected any advice he was “Mr. Ferrari”.
“In Ferrari, there is no place where there is a specific driver,” Lake Lake said. “Ferrari is bigger than any driver. It’s always the case. That’s what makes Ferrari so special. There’s a team support, not a specific driver.”
“Lewis is a legend of a sport, so there’s more attention to him at the moment than I do, but I’m totally fine with it. I totally understand that. It’s normal. It’s like this. It’s good for me.”
Asked if he gave Hamilton any advice on fusion with Ferrari, Lake Lake said: “I really don’t think Lewis needs any advice from me. I know the environment better than him, but he’s already introduced the team perfectly and he seems to be relieved.
“It’s a long process and he’ll learn more about cars and teams. So far, the advice I’ve given him is mostly about food. He knows that if he needs anything, I’m here to answer his questions, no questions. But he needs less advice than I have to do with him.”
Hamilton joined Ferrari to win a record eighth world title, but Leclerc said he was determined to be the champion, too.
“This is my only goal, goal and dream, and it remains to be ticked,” Leclerc said. “I have a lot of dreams.
