US-Ukraine agreement shows a deal is never dead with Trump
Don’t call it a breakthrough, because there is still a long way to go before peace is maintained.
But the agreement reached between Tuesday’s proposed temporary ceasefire in the proposed temporary ceasefire in the war with Russia is a significant change.
Just a week ago, the United States suspended military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, following a fierce meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump at the White House.
The diplomats in the United States and Ukraine were able to improve relations and list the path forward, which was how Trump was obviously fanatical and insulted, but was always willing to negotiate further.
In fact, for him, swagger and exercise are often an integral part of the negotiation process.
But strategies involving public threats and whirlwinds of discounts are not without risks, which is clearly painful for more than 60% of Americans who have invested in the U.S. stock market in recent weeks.
Major stock indexes continued to fall on Tuesday after Trump’s speech war and tariffs with his northern U.S. neighbor and largest trading partner, Canada.
In a harsh post about his truth social account, Trump said he would double the levy on Canadian steel and aluminum to deal with planned Canadian surcharges on electricity in northern U.S. states.
He said again that Canada’s becoming a U.S. country is “the only thing that makes sense.”
The aggressive style produced results in a few hours – Ontario Prime Minister Doug Ford is currently backing off the energy surcharge, and then Trump said he will no longer double the 25% tariff.
But the ongoing trade dispute eliminates trillions of dollars in U.S. stock market wealth. Next month, there are still more tariffs – on other trading partners in Canada and the United States.
Meanwhile, despite Ukraine accepting Russia’s armistice, if Russia plays a role, there is still no indication that the mineral rights agreement will allow the United States to earn a portion of its future Ukrainian mining revenue.
Trump has already made it clear how much he wants, which could be a stumbling block.
There is also no indication whether Russia will accept a 30-day ceasefire proposal. It is unclear what the Trump team is willing to convince Vladimir Putin to say.
Can the same script work? Or does Trump have to find another tool in the negotiation suite?
However, he was the one who could end the war in three years in most of last year’s presidential campaign, and the promises in this campaign have made significant progress.
He chose to perform high temperatures to bring peace and prosperity to success. However, the price of failure will be measured in the lost life.
