The Hundred draft: David Warner signs for London Spirit, James Anderson goes unsold

Former Australian batsman David Warner will play in a hundred matches signed by London Spirit for the first time.

The 38-year-old was originally signed by Southern Brave and in the first edition of 2020, it was canceled due to 1920 but has not been taken over since then.

Meanwhile, former England seaman James Anderson is not sold, and 16-year-old Rocky Flintoff is also the son of legendary all-rounder Andrew.

Anderson, 42, also participated in the Indian Premier League auction this year, but no agreement was reached, but he hopes to play for Lancashire this summer.

Other notable signings include the spirit of England’s all-around Jamie Overton joining Warner as he signed for the highest price of £200,000.

“Any competition with David Warner is beneficial.” Oval invincible captain Sam Billings led his team championships in 2023 and 2024.

“He was the box office and playing with him was a big difference! But I learned a lot from his players and leadership. I didn’t say that about him high enough.”

Warner’s Australian fellow Glenn Maxwell withdrew from the draft, but Southern Brave selected New Zealand all-around Michael Bracewell, former England seaman David Willey joined the original Trent Rockets and Manchester, choosing Afghan wrist-spinner Noor Ahmad, who is also the other top player.

Fast Bowler Reece Topley also formed an exciting rhythmic lineup with England players Jofra Archer, Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan.

Originals chose Black Caps all-around Rachin Ravindra, who was the player in the recent championship trophy game, while England Test Batting Zak Crawley moved from Spirit to the Northern Supercharger.

These hundreds start on August 5, and there will be a wildcard draft in May, where all teams can sign domestic tour form athletes.
