Sudan: Statement by the Spokesperson on the latest political developments
The EU reaffirms its commitment to Sudan’s solidarity and territorial integrity and the sovereignty of the Sudanese people.
The rapidly supported parallel “government” program has the potential to risk in the case of distribution in the country and endanger the democratic aspirations of the Sudanese people to lead to inclusive procedures owned by Sudan, leading to the restoration of civilian rule.
The EU calls on the parties to engage in conflict to end harassment of civil society representatives and to avoid restricting citizens’ space. The framework goal of the EU’s restrictive measures against Sudan is for people or entities to undermine efforts to restore the country’s political transition.
