Olympic ski jumpers Marius Lindvik and Johann Andre Forfang suspended along with three Norway team officials for using ‘cheating’ jumpsuits
Brevik and equipment manager Adrian Livelten was suspended this week by the Norwegian Ski Federation.
Brevik told local media that he was “very sorry for what we did” and Livelten apologized for the situation in Lindvik and Forfang. ”
“What we do with suits should never happen, it’s an action I will regret for the rest of my life,” Livierten said.
“We always do our best to optimize litigation in regulations, but cheating is completely unacceptable.”
FIS has taken all Norwegian jumpsuits from the World Ski Championships to reattack.
FIS Secretary General Michel Vion said the situation was “disturbing and disappointing” and that the investigation would “not forget” to ensure that “respect and fairness” prevailed.
“Skiing is a discipline based on precision and equipment plays an important role,” Vion added.
“That’s why, year after year, we are strongly focused on reviewing equipment regulations and controls to ensure that our competitors are on a level playing field.”
Lindvik won the individual gold medal of Mand Hill at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, while Forfang won the silver medal at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018.
